Winter Maintenance Tips
Winter is here, so it’s important to make sure your car is ready for potentially harsh conditions. A bit of prep and servicing may reduce the impact this time of year can have on your vehicle.
Checking the following can help you be prepared for potentially harsh winter conditions:
Fuel
To help prevent moisture from freezing in the fuel line, aim to add a bottle of deicer to your tank once per month.
Heater/Defroster
To provide driver visibility and comfort for all passengers, be sure your heater and defroster are in good working condition.
Windshield Wipers
Be ready for winter weather by replacing old wiper blades, using windshield washer solvent and storing an ice-scraper in your vehicle.
Tires
Pay special attention to your tires by examining for remaining tread life, checking tire pressure once a month and rotating as recommended.
Emergencies
Be prepared by packing an emergency kit including items like gloves, boots, blankets, flares and a small shovel.
